Semperviva Vinyasa Yoga Training and Immersion with Clara Robert-Oss
July 16-23rd, 2013
This Vinyasa Yoga course instructed by Clara Roberts-Oss is designed for anyone wanting to deepen their knowledge of Vinyasa Yoga (also referred to as Power Yoga), and for 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training graduates wanting to incorporate Vinyasa Flow Yoga into their teaching style.
For 200 hour certified teachers the credits of the course can be applied towards the 500 hour certification, and is eligible for 36 CEUs with Yoga Alliance. (Continuing Education Units are required to maintain your status as a Registered Yoga Teacher).
Breaking down the fundamentals of Vinyasa Yoga we will explore the yoga poses that comprise the components of a vinyasa class, pranayama (breathing techniques) and Bhandas, and learn how to move in and out of postures safely, with correct alignment, using the breath as the guide. The asanas included are: Surya Namaskars (Sun Salutations), standing poses, balancing postures, core strengtheners, seated and reclining postures. We will explore the roots of Vinyasa Yoga, the Ashtanga Yoga system, as well as creative flows from Jivamukti and Shiva Rea’s Prana Flow.
We will give you the tools to safely adjust students in common and advances yoga poses. You will adjust with more confidence, giving your students the support they need to go further into their asana practice. You will also learn how to move in and out of advanced yoga poses safely and how to teach these asana to your students.
This part of the training will bring us back to more esoteric parts of the practice, with the emphasis being Gita and Tantra. It will help you understand why yogic philosophy is a vital part of the practice and show you how to incorporate more esoteric principles into the physical yoga practice. We will discuss the Gita, creating themes that can be used in class.
